I
can see that news and events can be on the home page or not.
Once we decide on where we want the news or events to go on
our site, are we stuck with that layout, or can we change
our minds later on? |
| |
Nothing is fixed in stone. All Accrisoft
Freedom sites have an area of the web page designated for
content, and content, both static or dynamic can be targeted
just about anywhere on the page. Generally, a web page has
a consistent header and footer, with changing content between
them. The Home page, however, may have a totally different
layout that includes several different modules and formats
that display information from the full array of Accrisoft
modules. The choice, really is up to you. If you want to
have a completely unique layout, it's doable.
However, once again, we want to emphasize that there can
be benefits to you for selecting a design layout similar
to one we've found to be successful; one with history of
attracting traffic, membership and revenue.

If
we go with one of your "proven templates" will the
site really look different enough from other Freedom sites.
|
| |
Yes,
it can look quite different from other sites. Simply by changing
the header, and graphics and the colors, the type styles and
spacing a little bit, it really look a different site. In
fact, you can go with one of our proven layouts, and still
have a site site that looks and feels like your own site with
a minimum amount of redesign. And if that's not what you want,
you ask us to give you a completely custom look. You aren't
really boxed into a corner from the design standpoint with
Freedom. Going with "proven layout" is really a
question of wanting to benefit with from other people's experience.
There's a reason a car looks like a car, and plane looks like
a plane. It's not all that different with web sites either.

Is
there a rollback feature for content that is accidentally
erased? |
| |
No, but our
data center does make nightly backups of each web site so
that critical deleted information can be recovered from the
previous day. |
|
|
| |
With
the News Feed content, what news sources can I use? Am I limited?
|
| |
No,
you aren't limited to one company, but we have a built-in
feature to stream news from Moreover. |
| |
|
|
Will
it cost us any money to stream news feeds? |
| |
Every
company has different policies. Moreover streams free news
to Charitable organizations and Not-For-Profits, so if you
qualify, you can start streaming news from them immediately.
In some cases, it's also worth considering paying for news.
News can do wonders for web traffic. If you qualify for
free news, you should be doing it. It's really going to
make a difference in your site's readership.

What's
involved in setting up a news feed in Freedom? Do I have to
use HTML code or other programming? |
| |
Not
if you are using the Moreover news feeds that Freedom comes
setup to use. You can use other companies, of course, but
if you are using Moreover.com (and they are a great company
for news feeds) then setting up news to stream in freedom
couldn't really be simpler, and doesn't even involve using
any coding at all. How is that? Well, it's already setup to
stream from Moreover, so the process is much simpler.
All you have to do is go to the news feed module and enter
in the type of news you are looking to "feed" and
decide how many stories you wish to place on your target page
or location. If you are placing it on a separate news page,
you'll want to give that page a menu item in your navigation
menu. |
| |
|
|
|
| |
If I want news about something very specific? Is that possible?
|
| |
Yes.
Of course, there have to be stories of the type you are looking
for, but let's assume there is for the moment. In fact, let's
say you wanted stories about a specific Toronto sports team,
then you simply type in "Toronto Blue Jays" or "Toronto
Maple Leafs", using the quotation marks because that
would narrow your news topics to that specific phrase rather
than any occurrence of those two words.
Yes, it's just that simple. |
